Steps:
1. Preparation: Ensure the workspace is clean and gather the necessary materials and tools.
2. Measure Soy Wax: Measure the required amount of soy wax based on the number of candles you plan to make. A kitchen scale can provide accurate measurements.
3. Prepare Candle Wick: Cut the candle wick to the desired length, leaving extra length to tie around the candle mold. Ensure the wick's center aligns with the mold.
4. Melt Soy Wax: Use a microwave, double boiler, or a specialized candle melting pot to slowly melt the soy wax to the appropriate temperature, typically between 160°F (approximately 71°C) and 180°F (approximately 82°C). Stir to ensure even melting.
5. Add Dye and Fragrance: If desired, add candle dye and fragrance to the melted soy wax. Stir thoroughly.
6. Pouring: Slowly pour the melted soy wax into the prepared candle molds, ensuring the candle wick stays centered. Monitor the temperature to avoid overheating.
7. Cooling: Allow the candles to cool and solidify completely. This may take several hours, depending on the size and shape of the candles.
8. Trimming and Decorating: Once the candles have cooled, trim any excess candle wick and decorate as desired.
9. Storage and Ignition: Store the candles in a dry place and get ready to light and enjoy your handmade candles.
